I love working with creatives like yourself to help you discover and set boundaries around your worth. Gone are the days of buying into your own exploitation, undervaluing your work, or allowing "scope creep" in projects. I want to help you feel confident in your worth and what you do so that you can reach for the opportunities you want and feel okay turning down requests that will only burn you out in the long run.
Psychologists have studied creativity, entrepreneurship and burnout extensively. We can apply nuances from this research to you specifically in our work to help you discover ways to foster and grow your creativity, actually finish writing that book or completing that project, and improve the health of yourself (and by extension your business).
Are there patterns coming up in your work that are holding you back? Are you getting caught in patterns of perfectionism and perpetual editing? Are you struggling with self-doubt or imposter syndrome? Is hyper-independence making it difficult for you to lean on others and delegate? Whatever your learned patterns may be, you and I can take a look without compassion (never judgment) and help you break free into new ways of thinking, connecting and working.
I'd also love to support you in building community, advocating for yourself, learning new interpersonal skills for boundary-setting and collaborative communication... There are so many things in organizational, counseling and performance psychology that we can draw from. You and I can explore how you are feeling about networking, connecting and communicating with clients or colleagues, and all of the interpersonal skills that are needed for running a business in ways that are personally sustainable.
Another incredibly important thing we can do together is work together to explore and clarify your identity, values and mission. For some, this has meant helping people understand and clarify their personal narrative - their sense of self and meaning related to their story and identity. For others this has meant diving deep into why you do what you do or what impact you want to have as a human, creative, business owner, or member of humanity.
